Who Is Fridah Muthoni Kariuki? Miss International Kenya 2025’s Sustainability Champion

Tokyo, Japan Kenya returned to the Miss International stage in 2025 with Fridah Muthoni Kariuki, known as Noni, competing at the 63rd edition of the pageant after a four-year absence. Crowned Miss International Kenya 2025 by First Daughter Charlene Ruto in October, Kariuki entered the competition with strong national backing and a well-established record in climate advocacy and youth leadership.

A former Miss Tourism Africa and graduate of Kenya Methodist University, Kariuki has worked across environmental education, digital conservation journalism, and community-based sustainability initiatives through her Green Age Warriors program. She has previously participated in COP26 youth climate discussions and collaborated with the Kenya Forest Service on national tree-planting efforts.

At the Miss International finals held on November 27 at Tokyo’s Yoyogi National Gymnasium, Kariuki presented a platform focused on environmental conservation, women’s empowerment, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. While she did not place among the top finalists, she earned the Miss Sustainability 2025 award, recognizing her contributions to climate awareness and the strength of her SDG project video.

Her participation marks Kenya’s renewed engagement with major global pageants and elevates the country’s profile in international sustainability advocacy.
